LATINX RESOURCE CENTER
[STUDENT WORK / CONCEPT]
The Latinx Resource Center at SDSU supports Latinx students throughout their journey at SDSU to succeed and thrive academically, socially and mentally, with a commitment to intersectionality, inclusivity, equity and social and racial justice. Having just launched, the LRC needed a brand identity for the main center as well as their Communidad program.
process
The LRC leaders recommended the hummingbird as a symbol. It is found in multiple Latin American areas and is capable of traveling great distances, a positive metaphor for the LRC's mission. The butterfly is an additional winged animal that is found in Latin American and represents transformation and travels in large communities.
DESIGN ELEMENTS
In addition to the main logos, two patterns were requested that use the wing elements of the hummingbird.

Logos and patterns were applied to business cards, a postcard-styler mailer, campus poster, email layout, and stickers.
